Hope you all enjoy it. Personally I think the whole idea is crap. Many white people who made valid contributions have also been forgotten. Love people like Paul Robeson, Sam Cooke, maya Angelou, Billie holiday. Her singing of Strange fruit about lynching in the 30's is incredible. Needed no pc morons to tell me about them * +

There is information about many of these people if you are prepared to look. Love the great abolitionist Thomas Clarkson from the UK, but he was a white Christian, so few people care. And I think many of the people saying we should have a bhm, won't have heard of people like Robeson and holiday who put up with a lot more sh*t then they ever will * +

the problem i have with things like black history month, MOBO's and BAME is if the white folks held a white history month, a MOWO or have an organisation like White and White majority or even White lives matter. it's literally ONLY because those minorities were persecuted minorities that things like black history month or gay pride exist.
if we try to imagine a really bright, positive and happy future, it would be one where they no longer exist because skin colour and sexuality are irrelevant to everyone.
the idea of black lives matter takes it as it's starting position that to cops white lives already matter. * +

And white people have proven to be di cks again and again in history, all over the world. Black history month is about remembering what minorities overcame. It's no different to why people wear poppies, to remember something in history (sorry, I can't remember what exactly the poppies event was, but the point stands). * +

The problem with BLM is that they never focused on the group that has the least regard for black life. I think Morgan Freeman has it right, if we want a future without racism we need to stop focusing on race with things like black history month. Black history is history. In a way the 'woke' crowd has come full circle in othering previously marginalized groups just like they were before. * +
