Could it be a Jamaican crab pattie? A couple of local corner shops sell them, including the shop by our main train station. I'd try a home-made one in Jamaica but i wouldn't touch one of these things with a barge pole - they look like Cornish pasties but with a yellow pastry.

Spicey beef Jamaican patties are niceyumyum.gif. The pastry is yellow coloured because they use turmeric in the recipe. * +

Yeah i think there's beef and lamb ones.. i'm thinking the lamb ones are mutton, like they actually call them mutton (when anything else would be called lamb). * +

Lamb = meat from juvenile sheep upto 1yr old.

Hogget = meat from juvenile sheep over 1yr old.

Mutton = meat from adult sheep, generally over 18months or 2yrs old depending on whereabouts it's being sold.

In Jamaican and Carribbean cooking, goat meat is also called mutton, so it's likely they could be goat patties. * +
