The Scottish have been pretty unanimous in the 'All Refugees Welcome' camp. And yet Scotland remains white. I don't get it.

Walk around Stirling, Dundee or Abroath and it's just plain weird for someone like me. It's like being in MK in the 1980s. Down here i'm used to being a minority when out in public.
You'd think you wouldn't notice but the difference is huge when you add in the speech, because everyone speaks Scottish up there - there are all manner of languages here all the time, it's completely normal to have people around me chatting in foreign languages, and in some cases different languages all around me.

The brat brought it to my attention. She used to go to school in MK but her mum moved to a neighboring town, and she goes to school in a small area on the outskirts. She says one thing she dislikes is she feels weird because she's the only brown kid in her class, and one of the only ones in the whole school - everyone's white (she's mixed but looks asian).

The news that Scotland are finally going to get their fair share of migrants is welcome because this vast change is what they've been wanting for a long time, and somehow been denied. The idea that it's not a positive thing is best left to those intent on believing so. * +
