They don't even have to be married, they just have to prove dependency and / or sacrifices made for the other partner in aid of the joint relationship. * +

I would look at the actions taken and consequences of those actions rather than time. If a couple meets, gets married and one of them gives up their career all in the space of a day, then get divorced the next day and the one who gave up their job can't get it back or can't reasonably get another similar job then there's a case after just one day. An unlikely example but it illustrates why time isn't always a factor. * +

reason I am asking is I saw Nicolas Cage is getring an annulment after 4 days if marriage but his wife wants alimony. they were together a year. * +

Depends on the lifestyle she became accustomed to in that year and if she can prove she gave up opportunity for the relationship. The mistake he made was getting married. That comes with an expectation of dependency forever. If he didn't get married he might still have to pay alimony but the court could have limited for how long. * +
