Personally, I don't like to mix work and personal life. There's so much politics, and under the hood b*tchiness in business. Office people act sickly sweet to your face, but have little jabs behind your back. They can be real snakes.

I'm friendly with everyone at work (whether I actually like them or not) but not on a very close or personal level. It's just 'how was your weekend, have you seen this new film, go to lunch with' type of thing. But with this new girl, I find myself getting extra chatty and friendly. Is that bad? Maybe I should stop disclosing too much information. A person that seems to be genuine and trustworthy can become your worst enemy as situation(s) change at work. After all, co-workers are your competitors. Am I too paranoid or what? lol

anyone who talks too much and shares too much too quickly annoys me and pushes me away. i also don't share too much with ppl i have just met. that's for ppl I know and trust and have been in my life a bit.

don't tell ppl what you don't want to be public knowledge. don't share what you won't be able to deal with if it gets out.

and colleagues are not your competitors. they are part of the same team. * +

Yeah, I don't think it's healthy to think of co-workers as competitors. We should all rise and fall as a company, and not be jockeying to beat the others. But what I meant to really say was that when it's time to move up in the company, it's not uncommon for co-workers to get competitive.

Now outside work, I can be chatty/disclosing. Though, I often have boundaries too. It can be situational. I can definitely be overtrusting. But in work environment, I'm definitely not the one that shares too much too quick. But damn, you ever meet those people you just instantly vibe with? She's one of those cases. Think I'll relax some. Take it as it goes. *
