For the 4th time since it was unveiled in 2012 it has been vandalised. 55,000 members of bomber command gave their lives for our freedom. The memorial was long overdue and for people to treat it like this is disgusting. People with no brains obviously. The people who served In bomber command were so brave. We owe them so much * +

I find it really hard to get worked up about things like that. sure I want them to be punished for damaging property that isn't theirs but that's about it. I know this won't be a popular view but it is how I feel. I don't have any emotional attachment to statues and memorials. graves yes, different thing to me.

it isn't that I don't realise and / or respect what these men did. but it's just stone and plaster. * +

for a start they get to see their work being discussed and making the news. (the vandals, not the veterans before I get a can of whoop as s opened up on me) * +

Fair enough but to the veterans still alive and to the families of those veterans who were killed or who have died since the end of WW2 it is a recognition of the suffering and sacrifice what they went through. They did not get the recognition they deserved for a long while because many resented the fact that thousands died in RAF bombing raids. It was war, they did what had to be done. I salute them all * +
