Depends on the specific laws of the area. In SA they wouldn't win a case against the artist.

- McDonald's is a big enough brand for its IP to be considered fair use in some cases.
- Is the person using McDonald's IP for profit?
- Even if they are there is a lot of leeway given to artistic expression and satirical usage.

I dont know but they have sued companies for even having the name MacDonalds. I think they just lost a case in Ireland. * +

I find it astounding how many ppl read headlines and not the whole articles and run with it. seeing so much of this lately esp with the Dros r*pist, the teacher suspended for alleged racism and now this case as well * +

Perhaps the artist has already sought permission from Ronalds , and its not as if its being used to advertise any products.

Ronalds have sued other company's in past for using their intellectual property without permission. * +
