in a relationship... would you look in your partners wallet or phone? how would you feel if they looked in yours? ... this isn't about having something to hide or keeping secrets but just about how you view privacy in a relationship.

or them opening a bathroom door when you are in there and have closed the door. .. be it loo, in the bath or in the shower... would you do it when they are in there? * +

I wouldn't ever check his wallet or phone and expect the same courtesy. ... same with the bathroom... knock and ask first * +

Really depends on who it is, if it's just a girl I'm dating for short term or somehow I'm not committed to her, I take privacy really seriously. But I think the more romantically committed I am with someone, the more I reduce my own personal boundaries, while only hinting slightly at entering her personal boundaries a bit more. It really depends on the kind of relationship I am in.
I do value my independence highly, but if its someone whom I really trust and love, I don't mind sharing that with her. :)

Edit, you could check my wallet or phone also if I love you, I don't mind. Entering the bathroom without knocking would require an even higher level of intimacy which I don't want to think of right now. lol.gif * +

I don't mind sharing... if he asks I will tell him go look in my handbag or wallet... I will tell him go see on my phone etc. .. but in no way may he ever take it as a given that he may just go into these things without asking me first. (unless in an emergency) same with a closed bathroom door...

I am still an individual tho who likes my privacy even tho I am married for a few years already * +

I truly understand that, and that's why common values are extremely important. Life is long and full of challenges and you need a partner who has the same overall view on life that you do in order to take on its obstacles as a team in my opinion.
I used to always look for someone who would love me, was attractive and intelligent, now my focus is always on core values, and if they don't add up, I honestly don't mind being single. * +

I don't have any need to, and he's never shown an interest either. The bathroom thing I don't care about. Come on in. lol * +

I kinda feel that if I'm lucky enough to be in a relationship again I'd want it to have the qualities where everything was shared. if that wasn't the case I'd only be disappointed anyway.
