Oil is not made from dinosaurs, that's a very common misconception which was popularised by the Sinclair oil company and it's use of a large green dinosaur as it's corporate logo and in the marketing campaigns they employed, featuring slogans such as 'put a dino in your tank' but it simply isn't true. It's made from organic matter buried on the ocean floor hundreds of thousands or even millions of years before dinosaurs even existed. Stuff like plankton, micro-organisms, bacteria and algae that lived in the sea at the time.
Larger organisms like dinosaurs would simply have been too big to be buried quickly enough and would have simply decomposed and/or been eaten before that had a chance to happen. * +
