I'm against death penalty. The reason being that records prove that 5 percent of the total people sentenced to death were later found innocent, and the courts had killed the wrong guy. 5 percent is a huge number, given the number of cases and number of innocent lives taken by the state. If a person is proven guilty of a terrible crime, they are indeed a terrible person. They are no longer a threat to society once they are behind bars for the rest of their life, and have no contact with the rest of civilization. If there is a post judgement evidence that they were in reality not guilty, at least they are alive and can resume their lives and the right criminal can be sentenced. Too bad if they are already dead, and found to be innocent later. * +
