What is the best strategy for winning? i was thinking of just sticking to the same number like 30 which would eventually come out at some point or just 10 numbers 5 high 5 low. * +

Red a book once and it said the best way of winning is to bet on odds or evens. When you loose double the next bet. I tried it one day and lost 300 quid so I wouldn't recommend that. * +

It's a game of random chance. There is simply no such thing as an effective strategy for that, it's pure luck. The best you can possibly do is bet on red or black only and stick to the same colour every time, which, assuming the roulette wheel isn't rigged, should average out at roughly 50/50 if you were to play continuously for a very long time(like several hundred thousand spins of the wheel) and even then there is always the chance it could land on 00(green). * +

Betting shops are making fortunes on roulette and slot games , that says it all ..
Most games (not the machine ,the game ) are fixed at around 86 to 92 pc payout
but machines are attached to a central hub , so you're playing against thousands of players ,but the payout percentage is maintained
So taking it that betting shops are raking it in keeping at most 14 p in every pound gambled ,if you are intent on gambling roulette you'd be better off ,marginally ,in a 'reputable' casino

I have seen people win a big amount and then lose it, its like these people wont go of the machine until they lose all their money. * +
