INTERPOL has urged China to clarify the status of its president, Meng Hongwei, who has gone missing.
The international police agency said it was concerned about Mr Meng's well-being after he disappeared on a trip to his homeland.
The South China Morning Post quotes a source as saying the 64-year-old was ''taken away'' for questioning in China. * +

The newspaper said that upon landing last week Meng was ''taken away'' for questioning by what it said were ''discipline authorities''. The term usually describes investigators in the ruling Communist Party who probe graft and political disloyalty.
Mr Mengs family have not heard from him since he left Interpol HQ in the French city of Lyon on September 25. China has made no official comment, the BBC reports. * +

Mr Meng's wife put out a call on Friday, saying she hadnt heard from her husband since the end of September, the official said.
To make matters murkier, Meng is not just the head of Interpol: Hes also a vice minister for public safety in China. France has launched its own investigation. * +

As they have no regulators now in China with the president missing they're banning things including game licence approvals so no new games are allowed to be sold and streaming sites are also being banned. * +
