So a few people from the likes of McDonald's and weatherspoons are on wage today calling for a minimum wage of a tenner an hour. Many on Twitter are supporting this saying everyone should be paid this. Think it's a horrible idea. Would lead to increased prices and many people losing their jobs. Many businesses can't afford that rate * +

why are tips only considered for ppl who serve drinks or food ? i provide a service i dont get tips and im on around 25 '/. more than the minimum wage so its not a fantastic wage specially for london. Businesses like maccy d's can afford to pay their employees a tenner an hour they just dont want to, maccy d's made billions in profit last year and i bet a pound to a penny i paid more tax then they did nod.gif * +

Some truth in that say what. Don't mind the original concept but think the current minimum wage is about right * +

A single person on min wage would really struggle to have basic necessities in life. Something needs to give in this country to help nthe poor and down-trodden here. Too many selfish c**ts here though * +

Not sure they could afford to without putting their prices up. Business costs are sky high in London * +

Businesses would have to increase their prices to pay for higher wages which would hit the poorest hardest of all * +
