Alright, here is our version of this where we get to poke holes in whichever story, or find out if something is really possible or not etc


The thing I heard about recently: scientists plan to recreate dinosaurs within the next 5 to 10 years. Is this really a possibility? Or are there factors which they have not considered yet which may make it more problematic than it seems? * +

One problem: if you did recreate a dinosaur, would it be able to breathe our atmosphere? Would it at least have difficulty with respiration? The atmosphere is huuugely different to how it was back then. At a peak during the Carboniferous the amount of oxygen was up to 30 percent, and it's thought that the nitrogen that is present today is actually a result of the conflagration that killed the dinosaurs. * +

Today the amount of oxygen sits at around 21 percent. The lack of oxygen today is also part of the reason that we don't have giant insects anymore, such as dragonflies with a 2 foot wingspan. * +

The dinosaur thing is a load of crap. I read about why it won't be possible recently. Sadly I can't remember the reasons. * +
