Are the Harry Potter Books just for kids?
Anyone here read them? Thinking of buying them for a relative but he is in his 20s.

Although I've never read the books (only seen the movies) I think they're great, and suitable for an adult. A lot of adults like the books. The guy I was dating (in his 30s) read them all multiple times.

An outsider who doesn't necessarily know it might not be obsessed with it, but he'd probably enjoy them especially if he's seen/likes the movies. * +

Harry Potter all the way. Some people suggested LOTR as a substitute for grown ups. I think the Harry Potter series are very much about the characters and how they respond to situations while LOTR is essentially about the middle earth and characters only form a secondary part to the whole story.

Only have love for both the book series though. * +
