First it was our strawberries, now it's apples and bananas
food is being contaminated with needles in a scare that is decimating the industry. The culplrit? Well, it's easy for me to see that it seems to be fresh food that has been packaged. So, person or persons who are involved in the packaging process.. * +

Farmers are burning their crops rather than harvest them. Who benefits from this? Our fruit industry is the envy of the world.. Ok I am calling it: industrial sabotage. Nobody has the balls to call it what it is. * +

At first one producer claimed that a single disgruntled employee was responsible. This story soon fell apart when it was found that three different producers had the same contamination scare. It's not happening where they're produced! Are these people morons? It's happening where are all of it is put together and packaged. Then there's probably some ars*hole sitting there with a modified nailgun pumping needles in a few random punnets.
What they should be doing is setting up a few metal detectors on the sly so they can pinpoint exactly how and where this is happening. * +

It's too widespread, no. You could account for a certain percentage that way, but it doesn't explain the first incident. * +

Who are your global competitors in the fruit industry? That would be one of the places I would look into. * +
