My ex used to to bug me to propose to her to the point she even told me where and when i had to propose to her. Even though she was cheating on and being a general all round slag.
So she may not of said it to you for the right reasons especially if it was fairly early in to the relationship and it wasnt a mutual feeling that thats where you both were at.
She could of just been seeking validation and trying to tie you down due to her own insecurities. Or she may have a personality disorder like my ex. * +

bumped into an ex earlier from over 25 years ago , its brought back quite some memories really nice catchup , apparantly she's as fked up as me. * +
