Has anyone else noticed that the amount of mobile data they are using has decreased significantly recently?

My data plan hasn't changed and neither has my usage(if anything, it's actually increased). Where as before I could easily burn through my entire monthly data allowance in 2-3weeks and would nearly always need to purchase extra data to see me through to the end of the month, now I seem to be struggling to use even half of my allowance and always have loads left unused at the end of the month.

This isn't a complaint, it's actually pretty awesome, just wondered if anyone else had noticed anything similar and what might have caused this unexpected data bonanza? I reckon it must be something to do with all the new data sharing/privacy laws. * +

did you turn off the sync option ? that'll make a difference. I'm assuming it's an android.
