A number of the UK's favourite supermarkets are urgently recalling a variety of food products found to have problems with them.

Sainsbury's , Asda , Tesco , Aldi and Waitrose are among retailers asking customers to check their shelves and return the products listed below if necessary.

A number of the foodstuffs have ingredients which are not listed on the packaging, including nuts and other allergens.

Some pastry products are also being recalled because of potential contamination with small pieces of metal wire.

Macarons from Lidl are even being recalled because there is no English on the product label. * +
