The big get bigger and greedier .. The smaller chains and independents go t*ts up

You can't brush all mergers of dominant markets with the same brush, that's not smart. Individual cases must be assessed, and whether they will restrict or increase competition in a free market must be taken into account.
Sometimes mergers increase competition amongst other positive influence for the economy. * +
