Right, but according to a recent survey conducted by Eurobarometer, less than 50 percent of the states in EU viewed the union in a favourable light and showed lack of trust in the organization.
Donald Trump's approval rating in the USA has grown up to 50 percent within the last few months, and a large number of people within Europe are voting for parties that are against further globalization and ''anti-establishment''
Treaties are also bilateral agreements, and it is state who enforces an agreement after coming into a mutual agreement, and by the same reasoning they are enforced, they can be revoked and rejected as well. Just like the attempt at an EU level to create a single constitutional paper during 2005 was rejected by a large majority within EU via a referendum.
What I'm pointing out is not that states are developing anti-trade policies, or to create a system wherein there is no cultural or linguistic exchange, rather the issue is the system of power delegation to a single or specific groups of powerful sources that stem from globalisation.
Do you see the difference?

so few with so much power never ends well * +

you don't have to look as far as scotland to see the big stick in action, fracking in lancashire for one
as for neighbours the thinking amongst those in power or who have been for at least the last 25 years is
''i'm alright jack''

I almost agree, it's been like that for at least 50yrs and the thinking is more like ''I've got mine and jack can get fucked, i'm having his as well.'' * +
