Subject: 60MPH on an e-bike

Mine already tries to throw me off the back. I still haven't seen the big 'five oh' but it'd do 50mph with drop bars i recon. I like to sit up, though.
There are some very fast ones, but few are done properly. Some are death traps, most are illegal, The batteries last a matter of minutes, and some of these guys are a liability.
As with cars though, all people wanna see is performance. Thing is, that's not where they shine.
Yesterday i carried the brat on the back, across flooded fields, to a burst river, to feed the ducks. No mountain bike could do that, it was over a foot deep in places. I have grass wrapped around my spokes. We didn't get a drop of water on us. And we toured around all day. It'll do over 100 miles on a charge.
It's over-engineered, it won't overheat, it's a tough and tidy conversion, it's easy to use, fully automatic, and everything works as it should.
I can double the power simply by swapping the battery wires around (96 volts) and replacing the computer. But it would just ruin it.
Here's how it's looking after the swamp-wading action. I could make a posh salad with that!

Yeah, but you have to accept that nobody expects you. So anything that happens is basically your fault, even if you had right of way.
That thing looks like it has short cranks. I like that idea, more for cornering (ground clearance) than anything else. Might have to look into that. I actually have a set of 5-arm child's mountain bike cranks (145mm compared to my 175mm), but they're ugly and heavy. *
