Which two historical figures should have met each other, but (as far as you know) never did?
Who are they? What happens next? Do things go differently for them?

Mine is Nikola Tesla and David Unaipon.
So, Tesla (early 1900s) somehow ends up in Australia instead of America. They both find a kindred spirit in the other, both inventors, both outsiders with novel ideas bursting at the seams. Both terrible at holding onto their own patents etc poor business-sense, but somehow the combination of their radical ideas together bring about a massive technological leap.. * +

And eventually when WWI, or it's equivalent, happens the Allies have helicopters with lasers (Unaipon had interest in both ideas) along with other crazy Steampunkesque occurances. * +

Yeah, Tesla had an amazing photographic memory. He didn't need schematics and he could see it all functioning in his head. Quite the opposite to Edison's 'try every possible idea once' approach. * +
