I was gonna leave this topic alone, mostly because some of the finger pointing and ignorance that goes hand in hand with topics like this in equal parts amuses me and repulses me.
This one I feel the need to reply though, because the reason those spots are free is not for the sake of the parent, it is for the sake of the child.
Almost all child care here is subsidised, whether you earn 3k or 3000000k.
Why? Because it has been proven that the socialisation of children into that kind of setting early is beneficial to their future learning and that kind of head start is not the exclusive domain of the employed/affluent. Thankfully. *
