Just had a thought, do you think Postman Pat has a positive impact on children's attitude towards the postman? And on that point if they created a new show called Policeman Pete or something, would that impact on the negative attitude so many teens have towards cops in the long run? * +

it is usually criminals who have the most negative attitudes and brats brought up for no resoect for the law and or authority' figures. so no. * +

true, but through the media, hip hop and such, people get a negative attitude towards the system and the powers that enforce it...
and no matter how well parents raise their children, things can and regularly go wrong... friends at school normally have more influence than parents, and having been at a highly religious school I can say there's drugs for sale there too... * +

You can't argue that Postman Pat had a positive impact or has really improved postmen/children relations, can you?

I think it has a lot to do with the environment that children are raised in, and how involved parents are in teaching their kids.

While I understand your point that media might influence kids/teens (and it does in a variety of ways like hairstyles, fashion trends etc) but tbh, it does not suddenly change their mentality. It has more to do with the upbringing.

But sometimes despite a good upbringing, some people still turn out to be @ssholes. Some people are wired for negativity. But that's a different subject, and I don't wanna go into that lol

To answer your other question: Policeman Pete could be a tool to help bring them up well, if there are also positive news stories about police reform in the press alongside. But upbringing plays an important role. Just my opinion. * +
