I think for a few minutes. It really doesn't make sense for the brain to shut down immediately subsequent to 'death' as we declare it. If the brain is a biological mass that is dependent on electrical/neurological function - which is still flowing through the body post heart-rate stopping (measure by which we declare death)
Long story short - yeah, I think you continue to have consciousness for an undefined period afterwards. * +
