Was driving earlier in a shopping precinct, it has 2 exits...one that never use because it's just a one-day system. But today the other was backed up with traffic so.decided it would be quicker to take the one way exit..just as I neared a drive thru on the side of the road a toddler ran along the side just infront of my car. I braked and swerved to the right. The kid was 6 inches from my front wheel and his dad had just managed to grab him after I braked...my as s was in my throat! If it was slightly different speed, braking, reflexes...could have had a kid under the wheel of my car and a father could have had to have lived with the fact he couldnt/didn't stop it happening ...makes you think! * +

had something similar a year or so ago, don't think i would drive again if i ever hit a child * +

Same age as my son...who was in the car at the time. Think that would have messed me up. Have had to brake with crazy teens running out before but never somebody as small as the actual wheels and extremely quick! * +

I didn't think you would be driving a car at all to be honest bozza. I am surprised you are allowed to by law.

Sounds horrible experience. I had a sitch awhile back where I had to brake suddenly for a pedestrian lurching in front of my vehicle, luckily in a fairly low speed area, and a motorbike that was a little too close behind me ran into my vehicle smashing my taillight but thankfully getting up uninjured from the collision aaand he was a mechanic so fixed my taillight himself the next day. I was so grateful no one got hurt, including myself and my daughter. It's a dangerous world out there and you never can be too careful as a driver or a pedestrian. * +

i understand what you mean but i am allowed, just costs a fortune in insurance, no hgv anymore tho the eu fkd that up * +
