Seems most people don't know what a dual carriageway way even is, never mind the rules and regulations on using them. Winds me up cos people often drive too slow (grumpy) * +

The thing about dual carriageways is that, when someone's driving too slow, you can overtake them without fear of a head-on collision.

You do this by looking in your mirrors to see if the right-hand lane is clear to move into, then signalling your intention to move over into it, and finally moving across.

If you're already in the right-hand lane, and the traffic is still too slow, then you'll probably find you're intent on driving too fast.

Remember - your speed is supposed to be a speed of which the conditions allow. The speed limit is only applicable when there are no such immediate hazards as reduced braking distances due to traffic. * +

Holding up traffic in the right lane even if you are at the speed limit isn't allowed. You must move over to allow traffic to pass even if they are breaking the speed limit. * +

If it's safe to pull over, yes. It's an overtaking lane after all. * +
