How to communicate with someone who doesn't speak your language...
We had a Dutch lorry driver come to collect a load this morning... Our guy in the office told him to go and reverse onto loading bay 7 and wait...
The Dutch guy didn't understand so our guy in the office then proceeded to repeat what he had said, slowly, louder and strangely with fewer words each time...
'Go and wait on bay 7'
'Go to BAY 7'
'GO BAAY 7'
'BAAAAAY 7'
*Holding up 7 fingers* 'SEVEN'
And at that the driver nodded his head.. Said 'ok'... Then left the site and promptly returned back at 7!
