Just tried watching war and peace on Netflix...however the Russians were talking in a upper class English accent ...that lasted about two mins before I ditched it ...then Hitler the rise of evil had Hitler waffling on in English grumpy....so the question is do you prefere subtitles to maintain authenticity or don't you care ??? * +

Subtitles are usually way better in my opinion. I prefer watching movies, tv series and (especially) anime in their default dub. Though. I understand why some people would prefer the dubbed version over subbed. * +

dont like subtitles , only ever watch them when discover a downloaded film requires them encoding.

I wanna watch the film, not read print at the bottom of the screen. The foreign language is off-putting, too.

And i don't understand what's authentic about not hearing in my language. People understood what they were saying at the time, so i want to. That's authentic. * +

A good quality audio dub in my lingo is what I like. Sometimes I don't mind watching something foreign in subtitles. That's when I'm trying to learn that language. * +

I'd rather watch it in the language it's intended for, puts me off when they all speak in English. * +
