Peter Sallis has died at the age of 96, peacefully with his family by his side, his agents have announced.
The actor was best known for appearing in the ultra-successful sitcom 'Last of the Summer Wine', and was also famous as the voice of 'Wallace' in 'Wallace and Gromit'.
Sallis played Norman 'Cleggy' Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine, from it's first episode in 1973, until the series concluded in 2010.
He was the only actor to appear in all 295 episodes of the sitcom.

I thought that, but then it occurred to me the state of General Forum lately.. i think it's nice to be able to appreciate certain individuals where we can, rather that the horribly, increasingly, common view of counting blind losses. * +
