Okay, so I saved an injured bird from becoming crows buffet. Its tail is missing, and the wing feathers are broken/frayed. You'd think the crows would leave it alone knowing it's injured.

It wouldn't be long before it was killed by the crows or was spotted by one of the vicious cats that live around here so it was best to take it inside. With the help of one of our neighbour's guards who spent 10-15 minutes chasing it around before catching it, and putting it in a cage (I couldn't do it myself. I'm a big scaredy girl)

I need to google what to feed it, how to tell its gender etc but I can't really identify the bird to begin with. I'm uploading a pic in profile. Have a look!

My questions:
What type of bird is it? Do they grow back their tail/feathers, and how fast? How do you even tell the gender of a bird? Do they bite? I mean, of course but is the bite strong enough to draw blood? Lol * +

Don't say take it to a vet or something like that because they will charge me for its treatment lol

I did look up animal shelters in Delhi, and called one of the nearby places. Thought they would understand if I told them I found the bird, and they should be able to identify the species or close enough to help it but instead, they told me they don't deal with birds. WHAT THE HELL DO THEY DO THEN? * +
