I was reading comments on an article last week and just thought let's hear it from Pro too.

a three year old boy fell out of a 14th floor apartment .. a neighbour saw the child laying there and recognised him, went to knock and asked the mum where is your child just to be sure..the mum went to look and couldn't find him. thereby confirming it was indeed her baby....

would you say the mum has some blame in it, tragic as it is for her, or just a case of it being an accident and parents can't be everywhere the whole time. * +

Parents can't be everywhere the whole time. If I lived in a high rise apartment with young children I'd like to think I would have checked the security of the windows though. A tragedy either way. * +

My windows have got security chains on them. The brat's bed is next to a window and that's screwed shut, it can't open at all, not even for venting.

Securing a place for a baby is not optional. She now has access to the chemicals cupboard but is fully educated. When she was younger, all the cupboards had catches on them. Sharp things, spikes (even stationary), anything they could pull such as curtains and tablecloths...

It goes with the turf. A parent who has a kid above ground level without chained/catched windows is a fkn idiot. * +
