i do not mean to dampen anyone's spirit especially now that most are in a festive mood but you just have to help me out with this.how is it that i,and i believe most people too,do find it much easier to have negative thoughts than being positive.a pessimist to me seems a bit more realistic with life than an optimist.maybe i am just weird but it helps in preparing for the worst. * +

neither is realistic. which is why they are called optimists or pessimists and not realists. * +

go to the pan and contemplate what a jellyfish would do, it's positive thought is it can kill and the negative is can't get out that water! * +

Nothing wrong with being practical. I truly believe in what energy you put out is what you get back. * +

I think realism is the ideal centre-ground, but optimism and pessimism have their place for balance.
I think we fear too much optimism, as it won't all be realised, so there's inevitable disappointment.
But whilst pessimism is safe in that sense, too much of it can bring us down.
Remember. You generally head where you're looking - if you aim for the win then you have the best chance of a result, but if you think you're going to fail then that's more likely. * +
