picture the vast surface area of all the oceans and seas combined (70 percent of the earth's surface).
now picture all of that area rising together by 10, 15 or 20 feet... that's how much ice they're estimating there is.

we could never make a hole big enough to take away that much impact. * +

Not just one big hole, numerous holes or something underground to channel it all.
Or just give up say we can't do anything and just drown. * +

If you think about it when the earth first came there were no rivers or crevasses it was just a flat round surface then whatever hit it like meteors or asteroids and such made big holes so if they're really worried a massive flood all they'd really need is to make new holes to even out the water so it don't spread
