I don't think there will be Christmas lights in the town I live near, because they turn off the street lights between 23:30 and 05:30, so I'm guessing that I don't care. * +

I havent a clue, usually 'santa claus' does it, some resident in santa costume. A few years ago it was cold and damp on the night of the switch on, 'santa' arrived sitting on top of the ladders of the local fire engine clutching at his sack of prezzies for the children. The poor sod looked so cold and p*ssed off, i could nnt help but laugh. The lights themselves looked a poor effort and a waste of time. The blue flashing lights and the amber lights on the sides of the fire engine were a better display, it would have been better to have kept the fire engine instead!. * +
