friend of mine actually got to go to his house and meet him, very smart guy. he'd written some paper about the religious significance of certain sci fi and other movies. if you can think back to The Omega Man (one of the many versions of the story told in the book 'I Am Legend') you will notice that in the end Charlton dies in a crucifix like position after saving humanity from the virus/contagion. * +
