I spent my 21st birthday in Buxton. I don't remember eating any chips I had full on flu and I woke up in the middle of the night convinced I'd been as.s r*ped by a ghost. Perhaps I'd drank too much cordial.

i remember when i was a kid of 7 or 8 we were on holiday in derbyshire somewhere. There was a vending machine selling chips You paid your money and it would fry the chips and deliver them in a paper tray after about 5 mins. Very futuristic for the early 70s only other time iv seen a chip vending machine was in bristol not long ago but it wasnt working. * +
