Do you take hints or do you have to be asked/told directly?

For example, what if somebody asked you if you like going to the cinema, and if you have seen *insert film* because they haven't and want somebody to go with... would you take that as a hint, and a cue for you to say ''how about me, i'l go with you'' ? Or would you just take it on face value and say ''oh, ok'' and wait for a more direct invitation to avoid any embarrassment if you jumped to the wrong conclusion...

I can take hints. I care enough about my friends. Most of the time I can empathise with them to the point where I'd suggest it before they had the chance to hint... * +
