Three spokes! Back to the 1990s!

Got a pic of my old '89 1.8 GL somewhere, but im in the bath atm, hassle. Tbh I didn't rate it, bit too upright for me. You sit on a MK2 Golf, but you sit in an early Polo. The Golf was further ahead of its time though, the Polo was a '70s chassis.

Yeah 3 spokes have never been my taste, I bought the car off a young lad in half a dozen cardboard boxes and picked the wheels up dirt cheap, they filled the arches nicely so snapped them up... * +

So much effort finding pics of it, but here it is.

Very non-standard, and ended up on BBS RZs after the wheels in the pic.

Very nice thumbs-up.gif * +

Yeah, that is nice. 15s max for me if anything, I like a bit of movement in corners.. and i have good experience with the early injection system cars, but the BB models looked best. Especially in black.

I had a 1990 Scirocco GT in 99-01, red with black kit and Le Castillette wheels, that's a car I miss. I'd have that again. I know or a fact I don't have a photo. * +

Yeah, those are 16s, it was a case of buying whatever was available quickest to get rid of the tacky shit that the previous owner put on it. I also fitted:
Koni adjustables
Eibach springs and anti roll bars
OMP top and bottom strut braces
Bigger brakes
2.0 bottom end
GTI Engineering RE1900 head
4 branch stainless manifold
Jetex system
Neuspeed quickshift and weighted rod
Some other stuff that I can't remember.
It was pretty quick for a little old car, used to embarrass my mate in his S3 laugh.gif absolutely sublime handling. Bought an E92 M3 afterwards, hardly ever drove it but used the mk2 all the time. * +

My car isn't that impressive, but at least it's automatic. Manual cars belong in a museum...

Automatics are for spastics * +
