Good news. It's just been reported that she has now regained consciousness and is in a serious but stable condition. A mechanical issue is thought to have caused the 180mph crash in which she hit a support truck used to transport the car to the airfield.

Was found dead of a suspected heart attack on Friday. Quite a shock having stunned doctors with her remarkable recovery from the above mentioned crash in which she lost an eye and which ended her racing career. Before the crash, Maria had been many peoples tip to be the first female driver to race in Formula 1. RIP. * +
