why is everyone telling that symbian is bad, but they can't explain, why they think so? please, i want a clear comparison of performance, ease of use and features between Symbian and Android. and none of this ''Symbian suckz Android 4ever rulezzzz!!!11oneone'' bullcr*p! * +

and, if someone says that Symbian is the worst smartphone OS - explain yourself! * +

Symbian 1st of all has an archaic UI and the OS itself is showing its age. Its inability to separate apps to app services (the app runs as a whole), the lack of a decent notification system, developer support is dying -notice how great apps like CorePlayer never made it officialy past S60v3, game developers are also going with only Gameloft being the main maker of games, and lets not forget... * +

The poor hardware (CPU/GPU/RAM) they provide, the best being 256mb RAM with an ARM11 CPU which limits software developers who want to make more advanced apps and games. At this point you cant even find a good Web browser for Symbian you're limited to the awfuly slow and outdated built-in browser, Opera Mobile and Mini, and maybe some half finished Beta effort, the evidence is everywhere. * +

ok, that's about software. now, about the ease of use - yesterday i got to play with an Android device for a couple of hours. well... if that is what you people call intuitive.. i can't ever browse through folders! to see audio tracks, i need to open multimedia player, to see pictures i need to open photo browser... if i want to roam through folders and files, i need a 3rd-party software. * +

and, besides that, every 3rd-party file manager also displays system folders, which i do not want to see, * +

Thats the beauty of a smartphone, if you feel as if you want to add extra functionality you install a 3rd party app, i see no issue with that, neither do the majority of smartphone users out there. You can set it not to show system folders. Its all about logic, you want to see pics? open photo browser, listen to music? open music player etc...whats so wrong with that? * +

wrong with that is that it feels awful for me, that i can't roam through folders without using 3rd party app. besides, to set it not to show system folders, it will take two days. * +
