i been tryin up update the software via phone and through the pc, it wont let me update via phone till i backed up data, which i have but it still wont load. and when i try via the pc it starts ok then after a while and then it says the phone is not connected but it is.. its doing my noodle in now *

Thats cuz you probably have installed some packages wich are incompatible with the upgrade! like preenv and others... your best bet is to flash it and then update... or you could try to remove manually the conflicting packages on xterminal (apt-get remove package-name) *

i did a back up with the phones back software . then updated using nokia software updater . the only thing i had to get from backup after flashing was installed apps . *
