I'd not heard of x264, but apparently it's the same (.avc) as H264 and it is supported by Coreplayer, but ensure you go to: 'menu/tools/settings' then select page: 'file associations' and tick the box next to: 'AVC elementary stream (H264), it's the fourth one down. * +

Oh dear, well it SAYS it does, naughty TCMP 
but I didn't have any H264 vids to test it out. Have a look at this page: http://is.gd/g5TEQ which may provide some guidance or at least point you in the right direction. * +
