I have a htc dash (s620) excalibur on windows 5 , when I download java apps like bolt browser ,shmessenger etc the left hand button that selects the menu , does not work , if I upgrade to window 6 or 6.1 will it work ? After the upgrade or is it just not compatable to my phone ? * +

I had all sorts of weird selection problems with java on WM6 which were resolved in the main by installing JBed (other Java Virtual Machines are available) but BE WARNED - it takes over your default java completely, so backup your device prior to installation.Now Opera Mini is available in .cab format I rarely if ever touch java however. * +

I need a messenger cab file , and I'm a heavy tagged user so only bollt browser can , oh I use twitter also , so I should upgrade , no one answered if the upgrade will allow them to work or not because they do on my p990 and blackberry but I prefer my htc * +

my friend has a htc wizard and bolt works great he said its windows mobile 6.0 I cant even get a facebook cab file * +

As I suggested earlier - I had java problems with WM6 until I changed the JVM, so it's more than possible that an upgrade wouldn't work for that purpose. There are loads of Facebook .cab apps - you can get the Official one, hosted here by FreewarePPC (where you can search for others if you don't like it): http://is.gd/fLyAk * +

I think the best way is to upgrade to WM6.5, most of the java app will work with JBlend. * +

I have and use a Wizard. Am currently running a custom rom from xda, it's TNT's wm 6.1 professional, loaded rom and it works great. It has jblend on it. Shockwap, wm 6.5 wouldn't run very well on his device-it'd be a bit laggy. Try wm6 or 6.1 and it should be happy. * +
