ok, so in file manager i see my pc appearing, clicking in i expect to see the hard disks i have shared on the network (like i can with xbox etc) but no, just says 'empty'. the other method is less desirable - through media player, but even that just says 'loading' into infinity (longest i waited was 10 minutes). help, how can i download files from my pc with my phone on the local network? * +

well i popped an FTP server onto my pc but there's no good client for maemo, so i'm screwed again. * +

wizard-mounter will work, i have it setup on mine, share is samba, use ip of the puta and two back-slashes infront of it * +

why would wmp help? i wanna be able to access ALL items on the shared drives; zip files, php files, xml, txt etc. not just music and videos lol *
