I want to upgrade my 8520 from 4.6.1 to 5.0.0.509 with the Wind Hellas release but is not sure what will happen with my BIS account if i proceed !Will everything be the same, just a new os or must the BIS and all other settings be reconfigured ? PS i will delete the Vedor.xml that comes with the new os because my carrier is not the same * +

Everything is backed up prior to the firmware update, then restored afterwards as part of the process of upgrading so to answer your question, Yes. You dont need a Blackberry account to be able to do the update. Word of advice though is to manually create your own backup of the device before attempting any firmware updates, because if something goes wrong when its updating, you loose the backup... * +

and settings that the updater stores. Apart from that it is relavtively easy procedure just takes about an hour or so to do. * +
