yes its maemo 6 and intels moblin combined. It linux based and supposed to be released on a nokia n910 although should be available 1 way or other soon for the n900 whether somebody goto port it across or not to the n900. This maybe even the next step for the maemo releases and the next firmware update for them, there are several rumours regarding this, but no solid info as of yet.... * +

Nokia N900 To Get First Meego Build Later This Month!? Nokia and Intel's joint announcement at Mobile World Congress brings new value to using the Qt cross-platform application and UI framework. * +

Qt is MeeGo's native development framework, meaning developers will be able to write MeeGo applications once, then easily port them to this newly expanded range of devices and platforms. Developers can then market these apps through Ovi Store by Nokia and Intel's AppUp Centre. The first release of MeeGo is scheduled for the second quarter..... * +

with compatible devices launching later in the year but According to Valtteri Halla half of the MeeGo Technical Steering Group (TSG) the team plans to open the MeeGo repository by the end of March 2010, with a basic source and binary repository to build the platform on the Nokia N900 as well as Intel Atom devices. * +

what this means for end users is that the initial release will probably be just command line based so as there is an initial development platform to get apps and games etc ready for the release later in the year for everyone to upgrade to, but still this is not confirmed as to what and when as of yet..... The meego platform is supposed to be RPM based (Redhat/Fedora linux) * +

so current debian armel based installs what are currently used will not work when this has been released, but the rumours say that the initial release of meego will be debian based still as maemo will be the initial and main underlying os on the platform untill its next incarnation where it is said to use the RPM packages after. *
