Thanks for the heads up - I downloaded it earlier today from the link at xda, and initially I thought it was great, and I was going to run it through all its principal functions before posting, but as the first simple test I tried to save a .jpg and it couldn't do it, so it got deleted. * +

just hold image, select open image, then tick save. its normal procedure on Minis isnt? * +

That's what I did - believe me, I've used and tested Mini extensively over many years, I've even got a Mini t-shirt from Opera so I know what I'm doing. The weird 'spirit level' progress car wobbled about a bit then I got 'failed - protocol not supported' on screen. Normal java Mini asks for various read/write permissions on installation which this of course didn't, maybe that needs some work. *
