The big update will still be released, just delayed while vodafone and nokia battle things out, but vodafone would of had to sign a contract somewhere sayin that they cant change the essence of the operating system which blocking apps like skype would be going against, especially as the os is open source. Flashing the n900 is relatively safe and fool proof * +
